That is, I assume this is what Konqrr is referring to. It's important to note, this doesn't just affect Sub-zero, it's merely more noticeable due to the properties of his moves. When I was playing Rob tonight, I was abusing the Hell out of the nerfed specials whenever available.
Excellent find, guys.

Also, After we found this with Sub Zero we began to suspect this was a universal glitch that could apply to any character that has a move that will reset in a combo. So we tried it with Scorpions spear and waalaa, same glitch. So other characters that have containment moves in the same vein will probably be affected like this. And once you know about its actually very abusable. Shock glitched me this way when we were playing alot. Basically anytime I did a freeze combo that ended with Xray or another move that lets him move before the damage is read on screen he was able to do it. This is big because it takes Subzeros ice clone away which is unquestionably his best move.(and broken as hell, but thats a story for another thread lol)

That definitely needs to be fixed. Hopefully they do catch this.

This also means that things like launchers might be affected, don't forget. If you do a launcher with a spear, or basically if you satisfy the limits of anything that either makes someone plant for example, it should retain this for the next combo based on how it works. Doing the containment moves just makes it easier to show. I don't remember if there are any combos you can do with say Scorpion, that would begin with a launcher, and then allow you to spear and finish with one of those stand off combos, where if in the combo you did another launcher it would knock them down, like his overhead launcher. So I would say do a pop up, overhead, spear, 2 hit, then try the overhead and see if the overhead launch just knocks them to the ground on the next naked hit. The spear might already pull to the ground if it's on that limit though, I really didn't have enough time to mess around.

In I believe the MKO Tony The Tiger interview with Brian I think he said the demo was 9-10 weeks old(that's over 2 months ago) so I'm not worried honestly, and I'm sure a patch at most can fix this problem if it's there in the final game.

Nice find though. Has anyone posted this on Ed's wall?

Did you just totally contradict yourself?

No matter what the final product is, if there are any flaws even in the demo it could be something they patched and maybe not. To let them know that we're working hard even on the demo shows how much we care. And how much we want to see a good game come of MK9.

And yes of course, we have communicated this along the line.

Not at all, I'm saying the demo is old and they've said in various interviews not to judge by that build since they've updated it. ^ I'm all for fixing a glitch if it's a problem or whatever. The MK team needs that if they are to fix it(is what I'm saying) but that's assuming this isn't already addressed once the game goes gold.

Yeah this is why I've stated that I don't know if it's been addressed. What if it's not fixed yet? This is a big problem that could only be truly exploited in one on one testing, and it's particularly bad at higher levels. Better to be safe than sorry. Also DreemerNJ brought up to me the possibility of wasting breakers by this. It could be possible, I don't have access to the Demo so others should probably take a look.

Bottom line... by now... "No shit" the demo is old... we know this. There is no need to bring it up. The only thing we should be bringing up is the actual glitches and how to fix them.

Back to topic.

Yeah, I'm definitely for fixing any issues. I don't know if you heard or not but in a few interviews(older ones) the MK team confirmed tweaks and patches this time specifically made post game launch on any issues that come to their attention. :) Unlike MKDC or the 3D MK's that had quite a few issues that needed addressing, MK9 will have it so I'm really happy about this. So let's say once the game is out, it's not fixed I'm banking they can via an update tweak if not thru a patch all together.

I'd try this myself if I could but I just have xbox :( and so far no demo out for it, but that's a good find.

I'm a little disappointed that they gave us such an old build. It would have been more beneficial if they had given us the game with all the bugs they know about fixed so when we find bugs we will know it's important and needs to be addressed. I don't like all the secrecy that NRS is showing about what's benn fixed. How can we give them proper feedback with such little information to go on?

Yes, I REALLY don't like not knowing whether or not a bug has been fixed, so it has to be reported, even if we shouldn't take the Demo as the be all end all of the game's system. This seems like something that could get overlooked.

At this point I'd love to see a changes report that indicates everything that has been changed from the demo to the current build. If Capcom can do it with SSF4 to AE, I don't see why NRS can't do it. Not to mention it would only need to cover general gameplay and four characters. Compiling a list couldn't possibly take more than a few hours. Isn't there an intern around the office who isn't busy finishing the game?
