Notably using Black Adam, Batman and Doomsday in top 32 and proves it wasn't just Scorpion that caused him to level up. Carl now heads to Vegas a favorite in both games. Provided one of the great moments off stream where he mocked doing a People's Elbow to a napping CD Jr.
Chris G: Stock up. After all the Scorpion talk it is good ol' Ollie that wins CEO. Retroactively legitimizes UFGT and forces New York to stop bragging about how he never wins locals. In MK he eliminates Blake, showing us that most likely some poor hapless MK player will get Chris Ged at EVO.
REO: Stock down. Arrives in Orlando too late to enter MK and has a bizarre top 8 showing in IGAU where he chooses a washed up Batman and brand new Wonder Woman instead of the unbeatable bannable Scorpion. Appears lost in IGAU and unmotivated heading into EVO. A character crisis hurt REO last year. Will history repeat itself?
GGA Wafflez: Stock up. Places 3rd at MK, nearly overcoming Smoke's toughest MU. Beats Pig for the second time, earning his keep on the team as a player that can beat Kenshi for Dizzy and myself. In IGAU he had a good run, placing top 16 and winning money matches against Tom Brady. GL has apparently finally clicked with Tommy and GGA must now stop blowing him up and calling him free. For some reason it took Tommy a month to realize f+3 and GL zoning are good.
GGA 16 Bit: Stock down. A good top 4 finish in MK can't cover the fact that I again failed to deliver in the IGAU tournament. Now I head to EVO with less confidence and a normalized Killer Frost. At least with UFGT I had the excuse that I only lost to training partners. Getting mopped up by Harley is just bad.
Tom Brady: Stock down. Fails to place top 8 for the second time in a row. Had some clutch moments in top 32 off stream but in his match to get into top 8 he dropped everything against CD Jr. Needs to refocus and unemo going into EVO. On the bright side his bickering with Noobe provided great hotel shenanigans and helped cure my case of the emo.
KDZ: stock up. Has become arguably the best Superman if only because he doesn't drop those 70% corner combos. Also has become one of the best showman, with awesome shit talking and poses and forcing Rico to rage quit might be the funnniest moment of the IGAU tournament season so far. Probably wants to murder Carl.
Saltface and Deg: Stock up. Not one by two Harley players in the top 8. Who saw this coming? At least we can all stop pretending Harley is terrible because she doesn't have a good trait or whatever the current downplaying talking point is. Special props to Saltface for coming out to Cult of Personality as his theme music.
Pig of the Hut: Stock down. Once again gets mopped up by Kabal and places outside the top 8 in IGAU. Was the most emo I've ever seen on Sunday. Probably would have quit NRS games completely if had not been for Monday happening to be Pig's favorite day of the year: EVO brackets day. Pig is now spending every waking hour studying the EVO brackets like it's the Bar exam. I like to picture the Hut household with an unshaven Pig refusing to leave the living room(now dubbed the War Room). Pictures of the various top players plastered on the walls and the coffee table covered in mock brackets.
CD Jr: Stock down. Pops off on twitter about how Scorpion is beyond broken and he will prove it at CEO by...getting mopped up by Chris G and using Superman instead of Scorpion in top 32 and on. Then goes on twitter and says he doesn't care about the game anyway. CD Jr must take the cake for players who don't care about the game yet won't stop ranting about it on twitter.
Big D: Stock up. Finally returns to the top 8 in MK after a year of being on the bubble or washed up. Uses Nightwolf and has a hype match against Trepound and a fish on fish match with Cuban Guy's Baraka. MK has become so washed up and near death Baraka and Nightwolf are now fighting for a spot in the top 8. That is worse than the tournaments where Chris G sneaks into the top 8. In IGAU he gets bodied in pools but played well in casuals. Since he never played on stream we are left with only legendary tales of his Bane told by Pig.
