Captain Oxygen
The end of one combo is the beginning of another
Any move that is dash cancelable can also be canceled into the run, And since you can cancel runs into anything. That means you can cancel any dash cancelable move into anything.
Run canceling special moves has multiple uses, for projectiles that you can run cancel. If you condition your opponent to block the projectile in advance, it opens up possibilities like running up and doing a mixup. Whats especially useful is that you can run cancel projectiles into D2. So you if your opponent tries to jump over your projectile in advance, you can just cancel your move instantly and D2 them.
Run canceling can also be used to chain combo strings together, here are some combos that involve Erron Black's Rifle Shot in Marksman, and Jax's Rocket Laucher in Heavy Weapons. (Sorry for the video quality.)
You can also do them for mixups, like doing a low string/ special-run cancel/ overhead string. Special-run cancel/ throw, etc. You can also use it to make strings safe. Jax's B12 string is normally -14, but by doing the special-run cancel into block it's safe against sub zeros reversal slide.
Right now a lot of people think Zoning isn't very good in MK X, but I think once people get the hang of doing this zoning will become a lot more effective.
