Computers, even on Very Hard, are very predictable. Just pay attention to what they are doing (and learn your stuff so you can focus on then) and you should have no problem.

Shiz man. I've never tried. On medium, superman boss is a pain in my ass as it is. I don't think I can keep my cool with super boss on very hard. I'd cry.

I've beaten it several times with Superman and what I notice is that the AI has a ruff time dealing with F23 breathe. Also I believe I read somewhere that the AI on very hard reads inputs immediately so you have to get the most outta your combos. Also if you notice when you walk back the AI will just walk forward with you so make sure your spacing is right and when they push something go for F23 combo. Still not an easy thing to do.

You can bait the shit out of it. If you jump, they jump, so just jump -> j1 all the time. Stuff like that, depending on the character you use. It's not hard because they're dumb lol. You can also pick HG and do Mace Charge all day.

Hardest version of AI is free to MBF3, they blow up zoning, dashes, backdashes, and will go for whatever way you aren't blocking. they also dodge interactables whenever possible and use them pretty liberally.

Walking, d2ing their jumps and highs, armor, and correctly timed j1s will blow them up.

I figured out how the AI works when I had to beat "The Max" battle mode.

I usually do delayed mbb3 (as in hold b3, then mb it later for armour). It baits the AI pretty hard into committing into a move. For example, if you do a delayed mbb3 on batman from a certain distance, he always tries to punish with grapple. I usually cancel it into a forward dash for a full punish.

Some of the stuff the AI does is just friggin ridiculous though. I remember I was facing batman and he did a prarry right out of sweep range, so I tried to punish it. Completely forgot he had a bat out, and got baited so hard.

Also the AI reads your inputs, so just fuzzy guard. Don't do strings with gaps either, the AI will blow it up hard, or just backdash out.

i beat the "beat the entire cast with 1 life bar" thing a while back
they read your inputs but they d the same things so once you see the pattern punish it or just play bait and punish style they will do unsafe shit

The only thing I find very hard about the AI is that they interrupt even the smallest gaps in strings. Playing with batman is a real bitch

I can get through the entire ladder pretty quick in very hard using several different characters. The problem is superman. The fact your damage output is 25% of what it normally is and superman can spend the entire match with his trait on... Its impossible. Forget about it.

I can only beat Superman in very hard with Wonder Woman but it's not that difficult. I think the reason I struggle with Zatanna is because she relies on setups, and vortex situations which the AI always blocks:(

I notice when I look on people's hero cards online though that very few have played above medium.

I just meant I didn't want anyone to say there are better characters, like MMH :DOGE

Also, okay, thanks for the replies. I guess I will just keep practicing. Can all of you do 10 hit combos, and 25% damage strings and what not?
Combo numbers are subjective to character really.. Zatanna will average more hits per combo than Wonder Woman for example.

The inputs for the combos will eventually sink into muscle memory and you'll get them down consistently even in the heat of battle. You want to concentrate on your spacing and learning how to punish what with your character if you want to improve at this game. That's how I've spent my four days in the lab

Lets be serious here, has anyone beaten the 'Impossible!' or 'Max' battle modes since they patched the Hawkgirl and Doomsday strategies? Because I haven't read shit about the best way to beat those on PS4

If you come in playing it like a normal match, the AI will respond to what you do after you have made the input, not after the attack animation is visible. Possible to win, but it's kinda loco. You just need to find something that the AI can't work around as well. As compbros was saying, he was using f2,3 breath a lot, and that worked out. Certain things get them all confused and you can sort of hit them.

Felt like Shazam was my go-to character for the harder difficulties. On knockdown, you can bait AI wakeups with near-100% success by simply teleporting across them as they're on the ground. Have had numerous perfects and near-perfects this way on Very Hard.

Otherwise, I just can't hang with the AI at that difficulty.
