Should Bane be banned at my next local?

Yea, ill be the first to say it. Because i'm cutting edge and ballsy. Prop me.

At my upcoming local, many people will be playing IGAU for the first time. They will have no understanding of game mechanics. They wont know how anything works.

Banes trait gives him armor and projectile invulnerability when he damn well wants it. There is no way general m2dave could handle that, top 8 evo placer that he is, so how is a random local player going to?

Bane eliminates the fun factor for new players who are going to get bodied free at my upcoming local. On the small chance they still buy the game, they will come here, to TYM, and get treated like shit for being scrubs who lost to Bane. Thats bad for the community, and looks bad on all of us.

I think for the long term health of IGAU, Bane should not only be banned from my local, but any other tournament without an official TYM club pro to show new players the ropes, and hold their hand through the learning process.

The hell? You're going to ban a character preemptively expecting folks wont adapt to Bane? Son he has B23, D1 and Venom Charge most days as his ways in and thats it. Armor or no if they know how to block scout that shit and throw down. I play Bane and if you're going to go out of your way to ban someone who takes as much work as him to get going you may as well start banning everything in the game. Interactibles, transitions, Aquaman , Deathstroke....seriously man banning Bane who is low tier for most and mid at best in experienced hands is silly.

Dont just assume folks will have trouble with a character. Let them play and just let them experience the actual gameplay for themselves. They may have little experience with this game, but many will have played fighters or other combo oriented games before and they'll adapt to a lot of things. I seriously doubt you'll see Bane run a train at this thing. You might see Scorpion teleport crazy and Batgirl teleport like mad on top of stuff like rampant zoning and Yolo Lantern grabs, but its unlikely Bane will run a train on folks with Venom.

Let them play whoever they want and dont just start banning characters you think they might have bad matchups with because then you are dictating their skill to them rather than letting them prove themselves to you.
