I'm interested in working on the Shang match up with a variety of Shang mains on PSN because while I know it decent....my Shang exp isn't varied so if anybody is interested in running long sets against a Stryker/Jade player please add Espio872 :).

Mu's are kind of b.s. because it all depends how good you are. Striker kills noobs, but not with good defenses and low fireball use. Same with jade, she can evade your fireballs and is faster, but a better shang will steal and melee her to death or just trick her.

Put another way. As long as you can soul steal and know how to handle yourself with the other chars its at least 9-1 vs everyone. Unless you have only medium defensive skills. He gets all his moves + yours. That's twice the options, but twice the complexity. The only person that's kinda hard is baraka because after his blade dash you can't counter fast enough after blocking. Its not impossible, just a bit of a disadvantage because hes built to punish fireball users. Reptile is away faster too so any mistake is costly, mostly because of his slow movements. But at a distance he is toast. Freddy is the worst, but only if he's very high level.

You've got the reptile match all wrong. I d rather stay back hucking forceballs to pop you up or use ex slow to force my way in. Shang is better than reptile up close.

It depends on the reptile for me. What do u do with shang up close ? After his dash I got a split second to react. That's usually when I can counter with f4,3,4 but the timing isn't very easy. Projectile users are easier for me because I'm better fireball for fireball.

All I can do is tell u difficulty on avarege vs different skill levels while I play online
cyrax 0 (no challenge vs gs, and f4,3,4 on teleports)
Sektor 2 (if your blocking is good not hard)
Reptile 6 (hard to hit advanced players)
Mileena 5 (hard to hit too, whiffs quite a bit)
Ermac 3 (easy to punish)
Night wolf 4 (uppercut kills shoulder dash, but kinda gets away with stuff up close)
Scorpion 3 (easy to punish, you don't need to really block, just duck)
Smoke 4 (can be a pain if the tremor on time, but most don't)
Sheeva 0 (up fireballs own her)
Kenshi 1 (easy to steal and punish)
Freddy 7 (almost no options if stuck far away and he's excellent with projectiles)
Sub-zero 2 (his fireballs stop slides, you don't have to get close)
Kung Lao 3 (easy to counter with good defense and up fireballs)
Lui kang 2 (easy as long as u don't fall into combos)
Johnny 3 (up close fireballs own him while advancing)
Cyber sub 5 (hard to do anything if he pins u good with pressure)
Skarlet 2 (she was never a problem as long as u keep moving or jumping forwards)
Sindel 3 (only one guy plays sindel very well, and he makes you fight to the teeth but I usually win)
Jade 3 (easy if u can read her)
Noob 2 (ex steal through his fireballs then punish, up fire blocks teleports)
Sonya 2 (easy to control with up and ground skulls)
Kitana 3 (she can win if your timing isn't right on, but easily controlled with fireballs)
Jax 3 (easy if you're not cornered, close gs can blow him out of the air easily, uppercuts too)
Raiden 6 (can be a real pain because of the instant speed of his superman and teleports)
Quan chi 2 (can be fully countered with some practice)
Kratos ??? Who knows I got Xbox.
Kabal 4 (with practice you can counter his little retarded up close stuff with pokes + combos)
Note: I think all kabal players eventually get carpal tunnel syndrome lol... they must wear down quick from all those extra button presses that usually accomplish nothing if the other guy is using fireballs on you.

The difficulty keeps going down as I keep absorbing each character's moves/combos etc.. as well because of the damage boost. Most guys will fall into 1-2 after a month or two. That's the nice thing about him, you can always be better by practicing. Other characters are limited.

what to do after d4 cgs if its not blocked?
This is a wrong thread to ask this but, depending on the distance you can either: Dash 12, 12, 12 into an Up Skull or a Soul Steal (depending on the MU)
Or you can continue with: MGs, FGs, Ex Gs D2(cross up) into either 12 UpSkull or F43 Soul Steal
