What a week! At our 40th weekly, where many have fizzled out, we had a whopping 17 players! TheDarkSilence brought us a new fighter from the Netherrealm named Darkmortal, Spookflix returned to us after a year of absence & Vibu came out of retirement in preparation for KiT 2017! Noticeably absent was our Champion of Mortal Kombat, Henzzar.
Vibu's rust was apparent. When he used to go toe-to-toe with Abram, Vibu got quickly 3-0'd early on. Magnum gave SenorAbram a surprising challenge with his Inferno Scorpion. Magnum was only a few reads & drops from the set much closer in score. ATP handily beat Dust 3-1....by having to switch from Brawler Cassie (ATP didn't even switch later on, when $$$ was on the line). #LetDustPlay
Winners Finals was an eyesore of auto footsies between ATP's Brawler & SenorAbram's Relentless. SenorAbram took the set & ATP held the L with his garbage Cassie. Though TDS made efforts to adapt his gameplay it simply was not enough. Once again he was one set short of placing.
Grand Finals SenorAbram vs ATP
GF was a MOPPAGE in the words of SenorAbram himself. ATP actually did reset the bracket with great adaptation to Abram's Jason. The character select timer nearly ran out before Abram went in to the next set. In a bold move he picked his young Reptile. This where anyone would have predicted ATP to switch but he didn't. And Abram was content with getting the life lead and zoning ATP out.
Next time....
Next weekly will double as a NEC watch party. There will be much hype to be had!
I personally found Winners Finals a boring set, so I didn't record the GF. But at least this is here for those that want to watch!
