select screen glitch (umk3)

You all know the glitch whe you unlock all three charachters in UMK3. The colors funkatize, but this is so strange... how does it happen? (MAME32 .106)

Just so we're clear, I'm talking about Jade in place of Kitana.

Often times the select screen when it depalettizes uses the palette of player 2 when you start a P1 game. It never messes up so long as you start a 2P game, or a 1P with P2. I have no idea why that happens.

If you notice, for whatever reason Shang Tsung uses the exact same palette format as the female ninjas. If you were fighting Jade as P2 in the match before, there's a good chance that's why. I know it happens when Shang is P2 and you get the Tanya look. I've played 35 matches in a row before at home vs people without a single glitch on the later mames, but it still happens occassionally. I really don't understand why mame dev doesn't fix that.

Only kitana's pallete messes up, only if I don't move the select box. I did notice it only in P1 games.

Whatever palette the screen is using, isn't fully set up to the female ninja palette which is why she looks all messed up too.

I have Mame set up on my Xbox and it does that too. It also sometimes spreads to the choose your destiny screen. It usually straightens itself out after a round and then a trip back to the character select screen.

so i have been playing UMK3 on xbla for a while now and sometimes when i pick jade i get the kitana color platelette's (srry don't know how to spell that) even though jade has his staff she still looks like kitana its wierd
