RUMOR: 3 More Killer Instinct Characters Confirmed, Plus New Characters coming and more

It would seem as though Daniel Duncan from RareFanDaBase.com has gotten some early Killer Instinct details from the developers? Some of these details are right on the money but others seem to be giving away way too much. Aside from talking about what will be coming back and what might be left out... we now know a few more details about this newly announced title. One of the harder to believe details are the additional three characters they mention the developers saying will be returning. Why is this hard to believe? Just yesterday the Killer Instinct team said they would be announcing a new character reveal at EVO 2013.

Perhaps, these details are true (which, would not be impossible due to the fact that they're all "classic characters"), but it just seems odd that the developers would give this much detail. Regardless, there is also mention of "brand new" characters incoming... read on!

The first day of E3 2013 has come to a close and I had plenty of hands-on time with the new Killer Instinct. My hands-on impressions for that will be coming later tonight, but right now I want to share some juicy new info with you on the game. I had the opportunity to speak with several of the developers from Double Helix Games and they hardly shied away from any questions I had for them. Here are the most important things that you need to know (both good and bad)…

  • Development began on Xbox One. It was never in development for Xbox 360 as many seem to believe.
  • The demo at E3 was put together within five weeks time.
  • The game will be ready in time for Xbox One’s launch.
  • It is indeed “free-to-play”, but there will be different packages available to purchase.
  • No Mercy’s and Ultimate Combo’s are currently not planned for the game as the developers believe “they aren’t necessary”. This can change, however, if the fan community pushes for them to be included. This would mostly likely happen as patch later on, however.
  • Aside from Jago, Sabrewulf and Glacius, returning characters will currently include Fulgore, Spinal and Cinder. They promise to have Cinder more balanced than he was in the original Killer Instinct. There will also be brand new characters designed for the game.
  • They want to include more female characters considering there are so many male characters in the original games.
  • The game is a blend of both the original Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2/Gold.
  • The developers are working very closely with Rare and Ken Lobb on the project. They are also getting feedback from professionals in the gaming fighting scene.
  • The E3 Demo alone is over two million lines of code.
  • It’s possible to enter an Ultra Combo, exit it, and then re-enter it again for a very powerful Ultra Combo. The developers say they’ve yet to see.. continue reading!

wtf ?? KI without finish moves ??? damn, first disapointment with this game .... hope this assholes developers change their brainless mind in time, and include that in final build version .... anyway, gonna buy this game, and hoping and waiting for Orchid and Riptor announcement ....

A few things that I feel I need to mention here:
1. Finishers are a must, no need to say more... Developers think they are not necessary? lol-wtf? Finishers define KI for god sake and they think they are not necessary? Finishers add the flavor to the game...
2. I think they must proceed making new characters only after the cast has all the characters that we know and love from the previous KI games and I mean all the cast, there are not that many to begin with... People are emotionally attached to those characters and they would be thrilled to see them back in life in the new KI as well...
3. If they want to make a legend reborn they should not slack and cut vital things of original KI games in order to keep the source code shorter(jesus christ this is not a: "the shortest source code application wins" contest...) but put some passion to their work since they are gamers themselves as they said...
4. TREAT KI WITH RESPECT IT IS A LEGEND FOR GOD SAKE!

Please stop viewing things in black and white man.. The world we live in is grey.. It says it will not have those things AT LAUNCH because they don't make or break the game... And if there is a large enough fan base want in the future.. They will implement it then..

Since when is customer/dev direct correlation a bad thing? It appears to be the start of a beautiful community....

Going to continue to hope it makes its way at least to PC under the GFWL banner. I refuse to buy an Xbone, regardless of what they put on it.

Finishers are a damn silly thing to leave out. I can imagine why, though - think about all the additional effort it took for the MK team to do good fatalities in MK9.

No mercies or dangers didnt make KI people. They are focusing on game-play which is way more important than a silly fatality.

I love how they are borrowing mechanics from third strike, sf4, tekken and other solid fighters!!! Now give us the pc version please!

Lets look at it like this......

We want to solidify gameplay and core mechanics for launch.. We want a crisp game that feels great and is fun to play.. It will be missing things such as ULTRAS, Humiliations, Fatalities, overload of extra costumes, and overload of stages.. However we aim to have the most crisp and fun fighting game come release....but fear not... We are more than WIDE open to hear from our community on what YOU want!! Let us know!

Or...

We want to make sure that each character has MULTIPLE fatalities, 10 costumes a piece, at least 5 different stage variations per character!! You can even customize character looks and colors!!!! What? Oh... Gameplay.... Yeah that's good too.. LOOK AT THAT FINISHER!!! And his hair! And her outfit.. Meanwhile once you get your hands on it.. It plays like utter shit.. Characters move like they got cement feet, it is glitched and unplayable POS.. Ultimately a dress up "fighter"... And ohh by the way.. We could care less what you want- this is it.. Deal with it..

I believe the 1st paragraph is the way they are approaching it.. And getting the "core" down right is a GREAT idea.. You can add characters, costumes, moves, specials, etc.. But if you got a broken ass core system.. It can be as pretty and varied as snowflakes.. But who the hell cares if its not FUN to play?

Edit: and sounds? Your talking about sounds? Okay.... Original Jago sounded like a giraffe getting its throat cut... This is no longer the 90's- we have moved on.. And if they want to make him sound like a man instead of a screeching Owl.. They have every right..
