Blue Blurs for Life!
With the arrival of the 1.06 patch for Injustice: Gods Among Us as of October 1st, the Break Weekly #227 was prophesized to be the "death of Superman" due to all the nerfs he had received, a spotlight shared only with Black Adam who, as players came to believe, was affected far more. But the Grand Finals came as a shock to those who tuned in to 8wayrun's Twitch channel that night...after fighting their way through an explosive 14-man bracket, the great rivalry of RG Rico Suave's Black Adam and EMP KDZ's Superman continued to act as the crowning point of the tournament!
One can only think that although Superman and Black Adam were nerfed, the iron resolve of their players was not. This has been shown to be the case with Rico and KDZ, with both players adapting impressively throughout the course of the event. For example, although KDZ was unexpectedly knocked into the Loser's Bracket by JRosa, he refused to say die and swatted aside everyone else, including JRosa who awaited him in Loser's Finals, to clear his path to the Grand Finals...unfortunately for him, Rico put an end to KDZ's climb to the top, demonstrating that this will always be a world of dictators, nerfs or not!
Of course, this has only been the first tournament for which the new patch was used. With the numerous changes to general gameplay and the characters still yet to be explored to the fullest, surprises remain imminent. Will the infamous rivalry between Rico and KDZ continue throughout the weeks to come, or will someone upset the balance?!
