On the 17th-19th of May, the 5th edition of the major series known as Battle Arena Melbourne took place at Melbourne's CQ hotel. Featuring SF:AE, UMVC3, Tekken: Tag Tournament 2 and more, the event brought a host of talented players from all around the country to compete. With players representing their various states, some of the best of the best made their way to the venue to test their skills against each other on the big stage.
This was Australia's first major for Injustice, and Warner Bros. helped to make the event even more special by supplying Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition fight sticks and copies of MK9 to winners in the 1st-4th and 5th-8th spots, respectively. In addition, Injustice's Tom Taylor made an appearance to distribute and sign copies of Injustice's Issue #1 to the entrants.
Players from a number of different games competed in the I:GAU event -- including the winner, MvC player TRP|Baxter, who is hailed as one of the top fighting game players in all of Australia.
When the dust settled, the results were the following:

3rd - Falco [SA] (Superman)
4th - GW2| Glassy [QLD] (Nightwing)
