Resident Evil Outbreak Series (PS2)

Was wondering if any of you guys ever played Resident Evil Outbreak or Resident Evil Outbreak File # 2.
It was a spinoff series from Resident Evil, in which the basic gameplay was brought, but for the first time ever, online co-op was implemented into the game. This is how Resident Evil Co-op should be thought as. You could team up with 3 other people (for a team of 4), and survive your way through scenarios. It was one of those games who had literally no plot/storyline, but the gameplay (especially online) was where it won us over.

I know REO is a huge fan of the game.

I have gotten into many arguments over his tier placing. I am firm believer that file 1 Jim was god tier. His doge gave him invincibility frames for as long as he wants and 4 out 5 scenarios in File 1 are to short to even matter, and his coin flip made him the best damage dealer. He got huge increase criticals with ANY weapon while Kevin only could critical with handguns. Jim could kill anything in his way, and avoid anything regardless of quantity.

File 2 his doge got nerfed but beside maybe David he still the best. PSN port would be awesome, but, people have been begging capcom for that for years their was survey recently asking what digital RE games would the fans be interested in capcom doing next and OB series was an option.

Yeah I agree with everything you said.
File 2, he did get pretty nerfed though.

I think a Cindy + Jim Team was really good because she could supply him blue herbs to protect him for 30 secs from virus meter when playing dead.

I always loved a smart Cindy player on the team for scenarios like DT on OB file 2.

Idk if you've heard that Capcom announced that it will be going back to classic survival horror.

There's a GREAT chance for a reboot of an original.
IMO, 2, 3, and outbreak series might be possibilities.

I think 2 will get it though.

honestly i didn't care much for the outbreak files at all....i didn't like that u basically had a time limit to figure out where to go and stuff otherwise you died.

and whats this about jim being good....i thought he sucked ass? all he did was play dead....thats not a dodge. and it makes ur virus meter go up.

I loved this game. It was a perfect combination of old school RE gameplay and multiplayer. It definitely needs a revival so I can mow down zombies with Mark. Lol what tier was he in these games?

He was more broken in the first file.

His coin toss was hella broken too LOL

i have the first file, but i still don't see how he was broken....honestly tho, what so good about his play dead? he don't have a dodge i thought.

:( well I guess I will be a low tier hero if it is re released. Back in the day I remember that the only thing the reviewers could bitch about was the lack of voice chat online. And these same reviewers praise the bastardizations of RE that get released now, smh.

I know I'm late to this but screw it.

i played both ALOT.


They were fun when you are clueless. But the second you know what to do the game became garbage easy.

It has faults IMO, but the idea behind the game was genius IMO. It just wasn't very well executed.
I hope they don't drop this idea permanently and give it another shot with a better budget.

Could never beat that bug monster in the hospital where he keeps chasing you endlessly, until I found a playthrough on youtube on how to beat it.
