General/Other Reset bug?

Here's the story, my room mate Chris Thomas and I are playing casuals, he crosses me up and hits with jip b12 and then a green flash (during the 2, or before... or the 2 didnt happen.. idk) like i dropped through a portal but the animation (on my character) of kabal's f4 or stryker's f3. Has anyone ever seen this before? Neither chris nor myself can determine what happened or why it happened. Any information would be tight.

All i see is one post that says that it would be cool to make it more practical, but how do you actually do it? Is it practical and does it work consistently?
