Recommended character for a newcomer?

This is my first fighting game in quite some time. Oh also, first post!

I got this game at launch here in EU, and have been playing it Nonstop...i finished the story and I am now trying characters in battle mode to find "the one".

I was wondering if there is any characters made for newcomers? Short and easy to remember combos?

bane has short combos but that venom management might be a bit advanced for newcomers. i think batman is the all-round character. he's like the ryu from street fighter or kazuya from tekken. that's just my opinion though.

lao, kenshi, kitana, cyrax, sheeva, subzero... pertty much anyone who i thought looked fun.

i say flash because he's fast like lao, killerfrost because of kenshi, kitana you know with the whole combo-fan thing, cybrog cuz of cyrax (havent been able to combo into his target acquired though so might not be as easy as cyrax to set up cool stuff) and doomsday because of sheeva. i personally was a sub-zero player and cant find anyone who's like him but at the moment i'm liking bane and wonderwoman.

flash is more like cage: frametraps on the inside, no zoning, just goes in.
i dont see the parallel between frost and kenshi, her zoning isnt that great. she also doesnt have fans, lol. Kitana's more like lantern i think
har har cyber to cyber, lol. Cyborg seems more kabalish so far.
You reall think doomsday is that bad :O My parallel to sheeva is costume 2 wonderwoman because they're both hott amazons.
yeah idk about sub, maybe batman... but i'd say it's a new game so play who you're comforable with.

people think he's an easy character because he has alright zoning tools, but i dont think most of those people even know he has normals, lol. if you play deathstroke, learn combos and you'll confuse everyone online, lol
offline people should be ready though... hopefully.

I would like some help choosing my character, i played(still playing) Tekken 6 and i mained Dragunov i just loved his style , my other favourite was Jin. So is there any char in this game similar to them?
