we both had about the exact same amount of health remaining, id estimate about 7 percent or so, he's full screen away from me and vice versa, we both ex shadow kick at the same time and it chips both of us...but i get the loss, can someone please explain this to me?

afaik mk9 allows random player to have an advantage when the same move is executed by both. often happens to me that i perform an uppercut at the same time as the opponent and we both fistpump in the air like crazy without doing dmg to each other. another time i take the dmg and yet another he does. its just random

Yeah, there's no draws in the game. This has happened to me before, as well. Whoever hits first technically wins the match, though, it technically IS a draw.

MK9 follows the same rules as the old MK games in that draws do not exist and trades do not exist. Every round, a random player is determined to have "priority" in trade situations.
