Kung Fu Treachery
Since there isn't a scene near enough to me... I decided to start one up for MKX! Got in contact with a local gaming shop that recently opened and they were all about the idea. Our first local was tonight. We had 10 entrants including myself with at least double that interested and watching. But they were playing Warhammer paintball so couldn't join. I brought my PS4, two tv's and a friend brought his PS4 to run casuals during the tournament. Used another friend's laptop to run the bracket on Challonge (which is an awesome site)
I'm very happy to say I managed to win the tournament on the winners side using Cut Throat Kano. It was awesome, the guy I put in losers (Liu Kang player) came back for Grand Finals against me for the runback but for whatever reason swapped to Scorpion. Which was a huge mistake.
I was a Scorpion main in MK9 so you could say...
I'd studied all his moves, baby.
In the end we met some other rad MK fans and everyone had a ton of fun. We're going to start running locals bi-weekly (so as to not conflict with paintball) up there now and maybe even branch out into SFV and Tekken 7 once they come out if people are interested.
So, if anyone is in the North Mississippi area and wants to play some MKX hit me up on here! It will be taking place at Caster's Den in Iuka, MS.
