Why are the DLC characters banned from tournament play in this game? I've heard that on a few streams and was like "Excuse me...what?". I do not understand. I'm an SSF4 AE player,so MK isnt natural for me,but DLC for SSF4 and MvC3 are legal. Cl0ckw0rk uses Jill. James Chen uses Shuma Gorath. Why cant I use Rain at EVO if I want? Sorry for the potentially stupid question.

right now most events are following EVO rules, in which the DLC characters are banned simply because it is so close and it would be super lame if someone won on stream with one month old gimmicks nobody has seen. i don't agree with it, personally, but that is the logic behind it. after EVO i'm sure they will be allowed, barring thus-far-unseen game-breaking glitches/infinites/etc.
