Question about MK PDP Arcade Stick

I just got the MK9 arcade stick that came with the game so it has the E-switch microswitch. I bought the cherry microswitches to replace them but I'm having trouble removing the wires from the E-switch. I have used my fingers to try and loosen them but thats not working. Would it be safe to use pliers on the connector parts of the wire to remove them from the microswitch?

Yes, I modded 4 of these sticks with better parts. Just use a pair of needle nose pliers. Very easy. Make sure you mod the controller too. Makes a HUGE difference.
