Question about MB

Ok, so I only got to play for about an hour or so last night and didn't really test anything against decent AI.

What I was wondering is if the MB can be used sort of like FADC is used to make punishable specials safe? Like say you do a string and cancel into a special, but ue your MB and backdash out so you don't get blown up on block. Does that work or does the MB only work if the special hits? From what I could tell, inputs like grapple (MB) didn't burn meter if the grapple wiffs. Does it burn meter on block and minimize recovery from the special?

I think it depends on the special that you are using meter on. For example, batmans grapple gun metered will only work if grapple gun connects, but with his up batarang, the meter causes it to explode, so it could cause your opponent to stay blocking. Each individual special will be different I imagine.

It's specific to the special, but what it seems is that your meter doesn't get burned unless the special hits. No meter is used on block. I hope the actual game isn't like that though. It's kinda stupid. There's no reason really not to use EX versions of certain specials if you aren't even going to lose the meter unless you're successful. I don't think I need to make comparisons to clarify the point though. IMO it's stupid.

Yes! with two bars of meter you can cancel out of a normal or combo string into your F3 or B3 with: Forward Forward MB or Back Back Meter Burn
depending on which heavy attack you want to do is the direction you press

also you can use F3 and B3 as armor moves for 1 bar of meter by pressing MB while holding the 3 button. you can dash cancel out of either attack
