PS3 Online not working and freezing

So when ever I try to go online it tells me to check my router and ethernet connection and then try again. I can go online with other games no problem, so why is MK doing this to me? It also freezes at the tittle screen and the menu screen and the online screen with just the Shao Khan background.

I tried deleting the game settings, but that didn't work. I wanna play online because here in the UK there aren't many people that I know playing MK let alone playing it on PS3.

Huh, not sure. I was playing online a couple of hours ago relatively ok, no freezes, some trouble getting into matches but nothing like this.

This happens to me every once in a while. When it does, I usually close the game, log off PSN, then restart the game and let the game log me into PSN rather than doing it from the XMB.

Yea I've had this problem so I'm glad its not an isolated event. Basically its been hit or miss with my game for the last week. Scorpion will uppercut subzero and then the little dragon load icon will show in the bottom right. If it sits there too long then it will just freeze, forcing me to hard reset my ps3. I've tried unplugging my ethernet cable and loading the menu before plugging it in and letting it sign me in. It still either freezes at the shao khan online page or it says "your system is not connected to the network, please check your router and ethernet cables". This is such a pain in the ass. I hope NRS does a complete overhaul with this next patch that should be out soon.

^I've had it completely freeze like that a few times too.

Has anyone else been getting a message that says something along the lines of "The Mortal Kombat server is not available." When playing online? I've been getting it a lot the past couple of days.

Ok I didn't think I'd have to come back here but here I am. So I was playing online and ever since skarlett came out I've been having these weird instances at the character select menu. Most of the time it will be cyber sub and skarlett with no kratos, and sometimes it's a red icon with a + sign. Well some guy told me that I needed to download the compatibility pack as well. I kept telling him that just having skarlett was good enough but he insisted thats what he did so he doesn't just drop from games. I can still get games in but I dl'ed the compatibility pack anyway. Well now it keeps telling me the mk servers are down so I can only do ranked matches. Then I skipped back to the menu and my 2 week old freezing problem came back. I'm beyond pissed at this point. I never knew how much an internet connection could hinder your game until this game. Is there a way to take off the downloaded pack that I just got? Reinstalling the game data isn't only a time suck but it doesn't work, I've done it 3 times since I got the game.
