Are you using a driver program? I use Motioninjoy DS3 tool to make the computer think it's an Xbox controller.
EDIT: Right, sorry, abbreviations... If you're talking about MKX, you don't even need a program to use it. But I'm using it because the buttons are switched if I don't.

Well, I tested my PS3 controller before using Motioninjoy, and it was working, so it would be working on windows drivers. Now, I'm on Windows 7, so I'm not sure if that should make a difference.
