PS Vita question: Do I need a memory card to download from PSN?

looks like I can't - but just wanted to confirm with someone.

I was wondering if I could download a game demo and put it on the system memory

I can play and keep saved games on MK on the vita - so that's why i initially returned my memory card.

sorry you can't get it in the EU :-(

I believe you need a memory card for everything of off PSN, which sucks.. PS Vita ends up costing more than a PS3...
