POS Xboner Controller

Can someone please clue me in to what could be the reason this happens. Got 2 wireless xbox controllers that me and a friend use to play offline sessions. When we start, one of the controllers will start randomly inputting up on the directional pad. Would someone with a greater understanding of the situation explain to me what could possibly be making this occur. I've had the controller apart and cleaned it the best I could and had no luck.

If it's a year one controller it's probably trashed. I had to replace one not to long ago for the same reasons

Yeah, his is a year one. That would explain it.

Owners have constantly complained about year one controllers on different websites, I hadn't read a post about the d-pad having the same malfunction, but I heard they still suck. I was naive at first and figured it just needed cleaning. But I think this will end up being the case.

Yup my year ones were all trash. Even my titanfall one.

If I could get my hands on the boards, triggers, solder, etc. I would just keep the controller shell and just put a set of boards and buttons in it.
