Performance rewards. Health?

(Maybe this has been mentioned before. I'm new to the forum and didn't see it if it exists)

Most of the performance rewards seem to pretty well-balanced. Time, super-specials etc. seem to be well on par with eachother.
But what is up with the health? You get a few hundred points extra in a match for just taking one hit compared to being at the critical stage. It seems really illogical to me that I get more points for beating an enemy one lousy second faster with no health remaining than beating that enemy with almost full health.
Is there something I'm missing here, or is this just a real mistake?
