Because of the way the combo system works I realized a few months ago that if you train your execution well enough. You can actually option select additional specials that act as hit confirms after your specials.
Here's an example of the concept.
Let's take something like Heavy Blade charge which can serve as a "check" to blow up advancing opponents. Now let's say that if they block I'd want to backdash afterwards.
What you do is input blade charge and then input your hit confirming special (let's use L laser in this instance) and then input backdash.
-If they block the blade charge only backdash will come out.
-If blade charge hits only laser will come out and you can confirm and follow up with a manual into combo.
This works with alot of specials in this game with a lot of characters with a lot of variations.. It's a lot of work to do on your controller but it seems like if you master it, it's a free confirm on otherwise non confirmable moves.
