Hi all, new to MKX. From my SF days, I am familiar with the concept of option select, but I'm having trouble pulling off certain option selects as described in certain videos. For example, in this Kitana OS video, I cannot pull off the first described OS for the life of me. During Kitana's 111 string, the player seems to say that he uses D, DB (down back) 1 for the 3rd 1, and the game interprets it as her QCB 1 if the opponent is getting hit, but interprets it as a plain (DB) 1 if the opponent is blocking. I don't think I'm understanding his directions properly, though, because I cannot replicate his results. The game doesn't interpret my D, DB 1 as a QCB 1 in any scenario. The video also shows his inputs on the 3rd 1 as D, DB, B, 1, not a DB 1. So what's going on exactly in the OS he is demonstrating?
Does the controller settings matter for this as well? Currently have negative edge and diagonal inputs off.
