Opponent Exhaling = Bigger hitbox?

I have no idea if this is going to be useful to anyone, but here goes!

I was showing a friend how ridiculous the hitbox on Mileena's D1 is (whiffs point-blank on a stand-blocking opponent, even in the corner!), and I had reversals/always-block on. As I was demonstrating,, I ended up getting hit by a reversal Slide. Weird!

After mashing D1 a bunch more times, my friend noticed that, if Sub-Zero is cornered and exhaling, D1 connects on standing block!

Obviously, this is super-niche and (maybe?) not at all useful, but I'm wondering if some of the inconsistencies people have been seeing in combos could weirdly be a result of this. I'm guessing it would only matter for the first hit in a combo.

Mileena's probably the easiest character to notice this with, since you go from flat-out whiffing to connecting.

No idea if this has any real applications, but it certainly seems weird!
