These characters cause a lot of chip damage, if you have the obisidan totem up you will gain meter for everything you block, you will gain a poop load of meter if you get hit by D'Vorah's spray, Liu Kangs windmill punches, or Tanya's insane pressure.

I would say pick war and sun God against characters that can out zone you pretty hard. Maybe quan, liu, Mileena, Jacqui. I would not pick blood god against characters with fast mix ups! Like Sonya, Jax probably Tonya too!

comments: War God is the easiest by a mile. Sun God requires particular confirms and tick setups. Blood God requires you to completely relearn the way the character works and how the game should be played.

comments: War God still has the most range, the best get out of jail free card, can stay safest, and deploy the most gimmicks in a pinch. So he's still the best variation sadly. Sun God has caught up a slight bit though.


III) Which is the best variation for a noob player?

comments: The top two comments apply here, even for noobs. If a noob figures out you can sword after strings it's game over for other noobs.

comments: Sun and Blood are just straight up much more fun than War God. Command grabs, parries, totems, damage, etc. It's a more ballsy and less effective version of Kotal that is very fun to fuck with.

V) Against which characters would you pick WAR GOD?
1) Ferra/Torr
2) Tremor
3) Kenshi
comments: War God can still get decent damage on F/T after the problem strings. EX Paddle is more useful than EX Sunstone against Tremor and Kenshi. The armored launcher is also a god send against all three.

VI) Against which characters would you pick SUN GOD?
1) Tanya
2) Jax
3) Jason
comments: Parry and command grab helps with all three characters immensely. The extra damage is also very welcome.

VII) Against which characters would you pick BLOOD GOD?
1) Sub-Zero
2) Kitana
3) Liu Kang
comments: I enjoy outdamaging GMs 3/1 and Subs seeing their damage for a full combo be 12% when trying to catch up. Kitana has as good as damage of any Kotal variation so obsidian totems are very important. Since she doesn't have a real 50/50 he doesn't necessarily need armor so I think BG is the best for her. Kang for chip meter build and even then it's just a maybe. I'd probably just pick another character entirely.
