Online Tag Team? Any chance of NRS developing this?

Where art thou, MKX Skarlet?
I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but it would be pretty awesome to be able to do tag matches with my brother against other teams online, ranked or otherwise. Do we know if NRS is planning to support this feature? I don't understand why it wasn't in the game to begin with, but that's neither here nor there.

Tag is a complete gimmick in this game. Training mode prevents players on the same team to work on their synergy and you can't play with a partner online. Add a couple of unbalanced assists (lol kabal) and you've got a hot mess.

By the way if you online tag why not just go buy SFxT? They have online tag and training mode.

...because I like MK9 and not SFxT? Because I don't waste money on games I don't know I'll like?

I never said tag was anything closed to polished in MK9, nor did I ever implied it. I said I wanted to play it, that's all, in order to have fun with my brother who lives 12 hours away as the car drives.

I would have loved to have 4 different people on 4 different xboxs doing tag matches. Of course the netcode is pretty rank as it is with people with mediocre connections, it would only compound the lag I'm sure but if it ran fairly smoothly damn that would be fun. Lol you could lose the match and have your friend to blame it on, so much hilarity that would lead to.

That would have been so tight, something to hope for in the sequel, all we need is respectable netcode and it wouldn't be a problem.

This and Test your luck should have been components of online.

I found it by accident; one of those where you enter the room and take the first challenge sent without looking to see it's tag, but I said "Meh, I haven't tagged in awhile, why not?" So I get the Trance and it pops into my head, "WAAAAIT...he can't stop the fucking Ground Freeze! GET 'IM!" It's glorious. All you need is one good Trance combo, and your opponent is Sub's to feast on and freeze out.
If Tag Kombat ever catches fire, that's my team. Winter's Sorcery. $$$.

OneBoxyRobot that team is hella cheap lol cyrax and scorp are another fucked up team in tag. Wouldnt mind seeing something like the scramble mode in sfxt everyone ive talked to loves it, I do prefer actual tag format though. Tag could really be a hit if everyone came into the match nuetral not eating a full combo for your other char dying.

I don't get it... You can do 2v2 tag online. I love tag in this game, its fun as hell. I wish they'd fix the few issues with it.

Unless there's some bizarre way that you know of to have 4 people on 4 separate xboxs playing an online tag match together this is what they are asking for I think. Which would be awesome IMO if there were.

As long as you could still do it at your house as well. It drives me nuts when you can't play with a guest but can have an online friend on your team.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your statement but you can play with a guest at your house right now in tag on the same team and fight people online. You can't however have 2 people online on different xbox's be on the same team as far as I'm aware..

No I know, I'm saying most games that feature guests online have it you can either play with a person at your house or you can only play with someone online as your partner. I want it to have both.

It's okay, I found out the next day it doesn't work offline. That was just the server trying to make it up to me for BEING FUCKING EVIL. I guess between the end of the combo recovery and the lag delay, there was enough time for the GF to take without them being able to jump out, but if you try it regularly, unless you manage to shoot it at the EXACT moment the combo ends and catch them, they slip and fall just like they would out of a double freeze.

Online: just like Johnny Cage...forever busting my Boxy balls :(.

Raiden's 2x Bolt comes to mind as well.

I think this warrants exploration. Just for fun, or maybe for the sake of finding some really screwy, broken shit. We oughta make a mini-task force and explore Tag to see what kind of despicable stuff we can find.
