online kung lao teleport kick

(this question only applies to online play)

whats the deal with kung lao's teleport kick? i was under the impression that its punishable with an uppercut/d1 because i've always done it and its worked

i've been playing this crawling shadow guy and i can never uppercut/poke him out of it, as soon as he comes ups the kick hits me and he combos

is this just a lag dependent thing or can the kung lao player time the teleport kick to be safe

Unless you are playing against PL, I saw how he uses teleport as a mix up and rarely get punished.
still punishable EVERY time, he can use it at wierd times to throw you off but its always a possibility

FOREVER KING also uses it this way. I know you can't play him online but trust me. Why his KL is so damn good.
You have to anticipate it online ... like Raiden's teleport. I'm trying to trail myself to just jump away, but my fingers don't always like me.

Online, teleport kick is annoying to deal with. Offline, it's incredibly less frustrating.

High crouching hitboxes and slow uppercuts also make it hard to deal with.

btw, Tom said last night... that d1 is pretty hard to do... because you have to catch him on the first few frames he is coming out of the ground.

That's good to know. I pretty much punish it everytime against the people I play (even when online). But they might not be inputting the jumpkick quick enough.

If it is possible to react to the teleport consistently with Sub Zero, then I think Lao players will be way less abusive with it since they lose 1/4 lifebar everytime.
