[Noob Question] How does one not prevent being grabbed by green thumb?

Was fighting a guy playing Swamp Thing, couldn't fight him up close because he kept using that up close command grab.

I can't block it, and can't tech it. What do I do?

Neutral jump or MB3.

Basically what the other guy said. You could also try to keep space between you and him if your character can play in that range

I'm not sure. I'd think you can if you have the right startup on your frames and you time it right. It'd probably be pretty simple to go into training mode and record the CPU doing the command grab, and then test your options.

Jump it. Since the throw isn't fast, you can usually jab him out of it. If he's tick throwing into it, jumping is the best option.

Honestly just press a button. It will most likely beat out the grab. Or for a b3 you don't even need to meterburn it

Certain moves are grab immune, so lab it out with your character to figure out which.
