I thought it would be fun to do it for Nightwolf as well. (forgive the headdress, it was a big guess)

I'd actually like to see how you tackle occlusion. Your overall surface work is pretty smooth.

I typically work from a greyscale midtone (like 70%) and have a separate shadow (50%) and highlight (90%) layers with minor touch ups afterwards. I apply colour via gradient maps after that.

nah, as far as colour it's strictly gradient maps.
