I finally got some internet after living on 3g for the last 6 months so I figured its time to buy a xbone and KI..

Any advice where to start?

Are there any good pads for xbone or is the controller decent enough?

Most of the KI community absolutely despise the Xbox One pad, but as a pad player myself I'm not too bothered by it. It takes some getting used to, I will tell you now.

As for where to start, can you tell me what character you are looking to main? Or do you have an idea of the playstyle you want to adopt for KI?

My advice would be for you to hit the game's tutorial IMMEDIATELY. In my opinion, it is the best tutorial mode a fighter can hope to have. It starts from the game's basics to covering advanced knowledge about fighting games, including spacing, cross-ups, mix-ups, etc.

When you install games to a HD, turn off xbox live, so that installs don't take hours. If you attempt to install game from disc with live on, it will attempt to download updates for the game first which in some cases take forever.

I would also get an external HD for your bone to cut down loading times.

As for KI, bite the bullet and get the HORI stick for it. If you insist on a pad, try the HORI xbone pad. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-1tt-49-en.html

Thanks for the tips guys...

Im thinking about maining nightwing thunder or sabrewolf ..they look fun to play from the game play I've watched..then again they look like rush down characters which im not used to

Xbox One pad is FINE. I don't see any issues with it at all. The issue with the Xbox 360 pad was the circular nature of the pad made accidental diagonal presses too common when just trying to press a straight direction.

The Xbox One pad doesn't have that issue. I haven't seen any evidence of the Xbox One pad not doing the inputs it was meant to do or anything. Quarter circles work fine, dragon punches work fine... I honestly think the negative view of Xbox One d-pad just has to do with the general idea that "stick > pad". The One pad also has a nice satisfying "click' sound that works as good feedback to let you feel you've actually made the input.

The one issue I have with the Xbox One controller are the shoulder buttons aren't ideal. The triggers seem a touch too sensitive, and for the shoulder buttons it's the reverse, as you can press them at a certain angle and they won't go down. This is something you get used to in time, and becomes a non-issue though.

Also, I definitely recommend Sabrewulf.
