New to MKX and fighting games overall

Hi, I'm new in the house. I play MKX only for few days but I got hooked. I 'm looking for more knowledge about the game mechanics so I stop button mash and try to play like normal person ;-)

So far I like at most Cassie Cage but her running combos are not possible for me to execute yet :-(
I started learning Kano though thanks to this amazing guide - http://testyourmight.com/threads/the-absolute-beginners-guide-to-commando-kano.55270/

I already learned quite a lot but still lots of hours to be spend in practice. Maybe I'll find someone who would be willing to play some online from time to time with newbie

Anyway I got one question that puzzles me... I found icon for badge that says that I should "Finish Kano's Tower" but I can't find such tower anywhere? some hints?

About that badge: I'm sure you've noticed that the Premier Tower has been rotating around characters recently. You'll have to wait until it's Kano's turn for the Premier Tower, then you can finish it and earn the badge.

Don't worry, nobodies combos are possible for anyone to execute, until you learn them.

Run cancel combos might be a bit more difficult, but most characters will need to use the run button in some way or another and often to combo, it's worth sticking with it till you get it down, no matter how unintuitive it may seem, trust me, you'll get it!

There were combo's I thought I would NEVER get consistent now I can nail them with my eyes closed (literally!) and my execution isn't even that amazing. Good luck with it brother.

Welcome bootsplash. As someone knew to fighting games myself seeing improvement and being able to do stuff I never thought I'd be able to do (like those pesky run cancel combos ) is awesome.

I'd recommend watching Ketchup and Mustard's from casual to competitive series https://www.youtube.com/user/PNDKetchup/videos covers defence, attacking etc. I'd also take a look at Sajam's videos on MKX he has some good videos in the MKX system series and has character breakdowns for every character (some info might be out of date due to patches but general idea is there) https://www.youtube.com/user/SupermanSajam/playlists

Cassie is really good and fun to play in this game. Don't worry about the execution of run combos. Keep practicing and they'll become very easy in a couple more weeks.

As far as playing Kano, that is a very good guide. There's also one on playing Cutthroat in the Kano forum right here

and in the Cybernetic Discussion thread there is a ton of info on how to play the character. His three variations are very diverse so you can use any playstyle. If you want to play more of a spacing/Keepaway style use Cyber. If you want to play similar to a grappler/brawler start with Commando. If you want to play a rushdown heavy mixup character play Cutthroat.

Especially as a beginner, Kano is a good character to start with and helps you to learn the important aspects of fighting to play him well. If you have any questions as you play him feel free to ask me or drop a line in the Kano forum. There are quite a few helpful players to lend a hand.

And don't worry about run canceling... it'll come to you. I remember vowing that I would play reptile so that I could just elbow dash all day and not worry about ever using the run button. lmao
