So I thought i would add to this post even though this information is now a bit dated. For those of you interested here is a small interview with the new Mortal Kombat film director (feb 2008)
At the time of this interview they hadn't started casting due to so many rewrites of the script but they announced in 25th August 2008 that casting has started.
Christopher Lambert is still on IMDB as rumoured for playing Rayden.
