General/Other - Kung Jin Neutral jump punch whiffing..

Tonight I played in a koth lobby with a friend. i would make a read and NJP as he tried to cross me up, and my god damn staff would go right through him as if I just did an empty neutral jump. Anyone else have this happen?

It doesn't have a hitbox up close so if someone is crossing you up point blank it's better to go for an anti cross up d1 or 11. NJP is for when you're scouting a button press and aren't in a position where you can whiff punish/anti air normally.

Alternatively if you cant get the anti crossup normals down you can NJK.

The dragon head at the end of the staff is what hits, not the staff itself. So if they are right in front of you midair then it'll whiff fa sho

@PND OmegaK thank you, I did not know that. If that's the worst thing kung jin has going for him, I'll survive lol. Thanks for the tips on anti cross up as well. I have better luck with d1 online. Even if I miss the lowered hit box often causes my opponents jip to miss.
@CoRzz Jin thanks, looking at the video on my ps4 now it's obvious. I shouldn't rely on NJP so much anyway.
