I hear people asking for nerfs, and people complaining about people asking for nerfs. Pre-patch Kung Lao was top tier and very good and was the target for a nerf, with the patch out now he is still top tier and very good so surely that justifies the nerf. At the moment, post-patch, Kabal is the target of a nerf, but some of the top players have said that Kabal would still be good if he got a nerf on his zoning, so nerfing him wouldn't be a bad idea, however

People need to look at this game at high level for example, whilst I was waiting to watch MK at EVO this year I sat through the finals of Tekken and all I saw was the same two characters in each fight, and even with Street Fighter alot of my friends use the same characters but with MK the top 8 is usually always with filled with different characters.

I just wish people would wait a bit for the game to breathe before screaming for nerfs, because not all of the characters have been tried enough to warrant these changes, and it's unfair to keep blaming NetherRealm because they are trying to please the cry babies. I love playing Baraka at the moment and I do well against the top characters because he has tools to get around stuff. Everyone use to think that Jax was weak but CD jr has shown that he can compete at a high level, Sindel and Stryker are looking very good at the moment.
I think that the problem we have is that people want a character they can abuse with safe moves, resets and block-infinites, rather than sitting down with a character and training hard with their character.

What do you guys think, are these patches a good idea, or are they stalling the progression of MK?

This thread sounds familiar.....Anyway people already have a character that they can abuse with safe moves, resets, and block infinites. His name is Kabal. But that not what stalling the progression of MK. Its the bugs, glitches, poor gameplay designs, bad netcode, bad training mode, and fanboys attempting to cover it up that's halting its progression.

Y'know what's worst than people asking for Nerfs and Buffs, the people that complains about people asking for nerfs and buffs. Someone gotta set them straight, eh?

My opinion is: the nerfs, buffs, patches, etc.. are usefully to a degree. People are just abusing the fact that NRS can do it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion/

So I wouldn't say it is stalling, but rather leading us to a better MK. This MK brought back a lot of people trust, so they won't hesitate to play the next one. So except an even bigger offline scene. Look at this MK as a path to a better one.

Again.. just my thoughts.

well, the way you're saying it makes it seem like everyone has to play the same few characters in order for the game to be balanced. i actually like the fact its a lot of different characters used at high level play. its more entertaining than watching the same few characters i.e. street fighter. i dont think the reason a lot of the characters are used is because of the constant patching though. if they dont patch the game for a while i think we will still see a variety of characters being played.

I don't care if Kabal gets toned down. I already know who the next two retarded characters in line are going to be.

Kabal does have one block infinite currently but it is too hard for me to do (for now) and no one knows about it, yet.

How many bad MUs do you see there? The nerfing/buffing was proposed by NRS, not us; either you want to remain blissfully unaware or open your eyes and understand that Kabal's character design does not make sense compared to the rest of the cast? Is he a zoner? Is he rushdown? Nope. He's both and he zones/rushdowns as well if not better than pure zoners and rushers; it's baffling.

Well the people that hate the complaining sometimes break down what bitching and moaning do to the community and how other communities look at us.

BUT you have your arrogant jerks who have the audacity to try to belittle someone and type all kinds a hurt bull crap just cause they think something should be toned down. THOSE are the people I dislike

The reason why we are getting so many nerf buff discussions is cause we have a company who trying to perfect the game, but they are new at it I guess.
Since not to many communities have that opportunity this one is abusing that PRIVILEGE, this is the exact reason why other fighting game companies rarely patch for balance because of this here.

So what we should do is buckle down for a little but on nerfs and buffs until a character gets out of hand (not online, offline in a torney setting.)and focus on much more important topic like bugs, future dlc development, Community expansion etc..
