Mortal Kombat 9 Online Tournament!

Well with all this talk about Mortal Kombat tournaments (of course referring to the EVO one) I have decided to try and host an online tournament (it probably has been done before but I want to try to host one myself). As of right now I only have one other person besides myself wanting to play and I want to do this tournament rather soon (anywhere from 4 to infinity players will work XD). I would really love to see a good crowd show up and it could turn out to be a really fun time =). I've been playing since day 2 release (damn amazon was late!) and have wanted to play in a real tournament but alas I have no way of getting there =/ so this could be the next best thing =).

Console: Xbox 360
When: NEXT Saturday August 20th, 1st match at around 5 p.m (EASTERN TIME) if you're not there in 15 mins after match you are DISQUALIFIED.
Rules: Have EVERY COMPATIBILITY PACK!!!! Fights will be held in a KotH so that it can be viewed and documented efficiently (yet again if this turns out to be too hectic then it can change). If you lose you are not automatically out, the losers and winners will each branch in a different direction so that everyone has a second chance and even more opportunities!

THIS IS A WORK IN PROCESS NOT EXACTLY SURE HOW WELL IT COULD GO IT COULD BE A TRAIN WRECK!

So tell me what you think =) any takers?

but please take out the 1 character rule. thats very unfair for certain match ups....

Hey man I'd like to get in on this but the one character rule is kind of dumb. But if you don't want to change it then I'll deal with it.

Haha yeah ok I changed it. I just thought it could be fun to KNOW who you're up against but it's up to the player to know all the match ups I guess =D.

The way I'm setting it up RIGHT NOW is if you give me characters who you'll be I'll post you as them but of course you are free to change in the actual fight, think of it as a come and beat my (insert character here) if you can. If you want me to take the character off by your name due to a change of mind or you want it to be a mystery then please tell me =),

I don't see how this could work out. Supposing there are more than 8 players, you would need seperate king of the hill rooms. Also, online is a lag fest, so skills aren't what they appear to be. Maybe someone is dropping shit left and right because of delay so to judge skill based on online play is ludicrous. With the way you've described this tournament thing I think it will be a train wreck.

My suggestion is, make it a casual thing. Maybe make it a "marathon", tell people the rooms name that you're going to be hosting and broadcasting, then all can join in and have casuals. You could probably talk to the mods here to post it in the front page when it's in effect and you begin the broadcast etc.

i don't really think anybody is expecting this to be a "serious" tournament. it's just for fun. i agree with the organization part, though, this seems kinda impossible to organize. i'm up to try anything, though.

yeah this is definitely supposed to be taken casually, no prizes no reward just honor haha but thanks for the input =). So I'm considering doing this THIS saturday the 13th, if anyone has any conflicting issues with that please tell me.
