After a week has passed, Eldriken can merge this thread to the already pinned one i believe.

Hope this one is way more fun and has a lot more information, things i had to left out in the past video since they take a bit longer to explain as well, but gladly the blocking part its gone, hope this also shuts up the "flawless block doesn't work in this game" detabe we were having a few days back.

Become a subscriber already if you haven't, i just do these for fun and don't really monetize from YT either

Peace.

Amazing as always, the music is just God tier and so are your explanations. I'm not sure how to merge but I'm sure Eldriken will do it once he's on.

I miss the time Dan Forden used to compose for Mortal Kombat, he was so limited with hardward which forced him to be pretty creative.
I place his MK Mythologies album as his best MK album
and the MK3D era he did with Vince Portanelli and Rich Carle as the peak of Mortal Kombat music.
If they could stick to either formula, i can only dream.

Yeah they're trying to do the same thing of music but modernized and it seems so drown out compared to the older games, it's an odd choice.

To any XBox users out there - do you have block set to R2 (the default, the trigger button) or R1?

I labbed switching my block to R1, and I think re-setting my muscle memory to use that as block would lead to more flawless blocking. That trigger on the xbox controller has too much give. too many times I release block but it's still 5-10% held down and the character still blocks.
Curious if anyone else has changed the button.

Don't really know how people are playing this game on controllers, i do play it on Stick and it works fine for me, i can even just tap to flawless block.

Yeah with the Xbox controller the R1 is more of a tap button the R2 is like a pressure-sensitive gradient button.
Gonna suck re-working muscle memory for block and meter burn but it'll prob be worth it.

Keep up the great videos, I always learn from 'em.

I use RT on Xbox for block and I'm able to FB fairly consistently. I've heard some players are using RB for Wave dashing though.

Hey eddy can you further explain the lockout system?
If you press guard and it doesn't flawless block anything, you can't flawless block for the next frames, the lockout time is not exact, reason why i said "around 60 frames" but it could be less because i have not tested the lock out time just yet, but you really can't mash it to get it.

So when you bait a flawless block, for the first 30 frames or so, your next attack has to be blocked.

But every time you flawless block, the lock out doesn't activate so you can continue to flawless block until you miss the window

At least that puts the theory that you can mash FB to rest. Didn't know the tech but knew I had a 3f window. Nice work man.

if you F.Block while you mash it just because you got ir right on the first guard, the lockout system works only when you have control of the character, so during a blockstun doesn't really count until you're out of it.
