Question More Hits Less Damage?

JavierDavila

ALWAYS an uphill battle...
Hey guys what am I missing here?

2,2,b1,j2,1,1, MB BM,trait,b2,3,13 (around 18 hits and does 38%)
Now:
B2,3,1,1, MB BM, trait, b2, 3, 13. (16 hits and does 41%)

Both combos use a bar of meter and trait ... What the deuce???

I'd imagine the moves do less damage on their own in the former or damage scales that way.

You must be new to fighting games. This is nothing new, damage scaling is just more pronounced in some games than others.

Also you'll notice that using black magic early on a grounded opponent to extend your combo will result in less damage than if you just did the normal BnB without including black magic.

Damage scaling in fighting games is why smarter players use resets and short combos for maximum DPS instead of long flashy scaled combos that do almost nothing.

The only time you wanna do long ass scaled combos is if you want the corner carry, interactable advantage or if you're trying to win by time out.

Black Adam, to be fair, kinda breaks that rule.

His orbs scale, but don't add to scaling, which is weird. So, if you do a combo with orbs used as a link, the combo will do shit loads of damage.
