Montreal Mayhem #9
With the Montreal Mayhem season finale just around the corner, MM9 was a big success. Good turnout from the usuals plus some new blood in the form of @IFEELYOURHATRED and @Fire Warrior . Both of them MK players which made that for the first time in Montreal Mayhem history we had more people for MK then Injustice.
However some people still couldn't make it. @Ecodus was taking his last week of break that he wanted and @xQUANTUMx had the flu and wasn't able to make it with his Nyquil powered Superman.
Injustice
Injustice started off with a clean 8 people making it a nicely set up bracket. The first round had many lop sided looking matches unfortunately @CanadianBaconX 's Wonder Woman took down @Mortal Komhat 's Shazam with a 3 - 0, @KRYS9984 's Batman put @T.roll 's Harley behind bars. @Chuckychuck 's Deathstroke was able to leave bullet holes in PestoSwami 's DoomKitty combination with another 3 - 0. Then finally in the only match to not go 3 - 0, @hard_goodbye 's Catwoman turned @Darkbloom 's Bane into a venom filled scratching post 3 - 1.

As the winners bracket continued, we saw that once again Bacon is unable to put a dent in Krys' batsuit, getting out zoned and out played for another 3 - 0. While on the other hand Chuck and Hard_Goodbye has their ever familiar Deathstroke vs Catwoman match up, that Hard_Goodbye was confident in last week, however this week his confidence wasn't enough as Chuck was able to run and gun his way with a close 3 - 2.

Then in winner's finals we had something happen that has basically not happened since Krys came out to Montreal Mayhem... And that was him losing a set and getting knocked into losers bracket. Chuck's always improving Deathstroke was finally able to put an L on the Bat Signal with a 3 - 1 win.

The start of losers bracket had a few more familiar 3 - 0s as Troll eliminated Hatman and in the Loser Pays All the Rent match between room-mates DarkBloom and PestoSwami, the venom was too strong and Bloom's Bane was able to pick up with win.

In the next round however both DarkBloom and Troll met their ends in very close matches. Hard_Goodbye braved through the Harley zoning and 'forced' rush down to take out Troll 3 - 2. Match up inexperience and smart plays from DarkBloom's Bane nearly took the tournament life of Bacon's Wowo, however Bacon's veteran smarts, adaptability and general Wonder Woman non-sense was able to weather the Mexican Wrestler Storm to walk away with a 3 - 2.
Bacon (Wonder Woman) vs DarkBloom (Bane) IS MISSING FIRST MATCH
Next up was the classic "Father" vs "Son" battle between Bacon and Hard_Goodbye. Once again these two keep one upping each other every week as Bacon is able to respond to his 3 - 1 lost last week with a 3 - 1 win this week, knocking Hard_Goodbye out of this tournament.
Loser's Finals was a rematch between Krys and Bacon which ended the same way these two always end up. Krys winning 3 - 0 and heading into Grand Finals.

Krys came into Grand Finals from Losers but, he is still the only person to reset a Grand Finals in MM history, but this week was not the case as Chuck finished of a great run by taking out the RanBat Point Leader 3 - 0 to take Montreal Mayhem #9's Injustice RanBat.

Mortal Kombat
The first round on MK had Fire Warrior play in his first RanBat match against DarkBloom in a Kitana versus Smoke match. Despite being his first weekly Fire Warrior was able to get a win 2 - 1. Next we had a match that could have been a Grand Finals match between Troll and Chuck. It was Kabal versus Kung Lao and it was a close one but, Troll was able to move on with a 2 - 1 over Chuck.
The next round was 2 - 0 city. Krys took down Fire Warrior giving him his first lost. Hard_Goodbye's Cage GOT SOME from Pesto's Jax. IFEELYOURHATRED's Cage's debut was soiled by Troll's Kabal with a baby, which would normally be embarrassing but it is widely known that Troll only goes for babies... Which makes sense when you see his name. Then finally Bacon's Sindel spit her way past Hatman's Shang.
As winner's bracket continued, Krys continued down a path of destruction knocking Pesto into losers bracket 2 - 0. While Bacon was able to 2 - 0 Troll because Troll decided to go Jax and clearly wasn't in top form.
Winner's finals had Krys' Ermac take on Bacon's Sindel. Bacon made this a bit closer in MK then it was in Injustice but, by only a bit as he was able to take one match with a dash up X-Ray to only give Krys a 3 - 1 victory.
In Losers Hard_Goodbye and Hatman still have a lot to learn and MK practice to be had as both were 2 - 0'd by Chuck and DarkBloom respectively.
IFEELYOURHATRED bounced back in losers by beating DarkBloom 2 - 0 and even getting a flawless victory with all the Cage pressure. Unfortunately the other new scene member Fire Warrior didn't do as well as he was eliminated by Chuck 2 - 0.
Continuing along IFEELYOURHATRED was able to get another 2 - 0 win and another flawless of Pesto as well putting him one match away from Loser's Finals. On the other side of the coin, Troll and Chuck had their rematch however this time Bird Lao had his revenge squwaking his way to victory 2 - 0.
Sadly at this point in the night IFEELYOURHATRED had to leave as it was getting rather late and is the unfortunate repercussion of running two tournaments at the same time. This meant that Chuck got to move on to Loser's Finals against Bacon.
Clearly on some kind of a victory high from Injustice, Chuck decided to go Cyber Sub-Zero and in response, Bacon went to his Kano. Bacon took the first match off of Chuck which prompted an immediate character switch into Chuck's 'online' Stryker. Unfamiliar with the character, Bacon was quick to go down a game making it 1 - 1. Bacon stayed in with Kano and adopted the great gameplay and "Upball everything." allowing him to take the last match and the set 2 - 1.
Wait Loser's Finals was first to 2? Well during the match a random passer by mentioned that he played MK a bunch. Deciding to have fun with things Bacon and Chuck decided to adopt this man as a... NEW CHALENGER! And a sub-boss for Krys. Unfortunately he had worst AI patterns then Goro in MK9 and Bacon was able get past the random Aussie encounter.
This allowed Bacon to get his rematch with Krys' Ermac... And for the 4th time that evening Krys stomped out Bacon with a 3 - 0 giving an anti-climatic end to a great MK tournament and giving Krys a TON of RanBat points.

Conclusion
This week was GREAT. It was great meeting IFEELYOURHATRED and Fire Warrior. It was great getting in all those matches even if we ran a little late. However as great as this week was, next week is going to be even better.
As you may have noticed we got some, not optimal cam footage of some matches, when more of them are uploaded to youtube, I will add them to the thread. Also I do plan on making an event page soon.
As it is the end of the season next week, we do expect big things. Hopefully the new guys can make it out again. Quantum should be feeling better and Ecodus is due off of his break. We might get some out of town competition to show up if @Ram can make it. I also urge people who haven't been so regular to try and make it for next week. I want to make it big... As big as we can cause, honestly the fact we've had a RanBat actually run for almost three months is amazing, especially in Montreal.
As for the Season it self it does seem that Krys does have good leads in both games however, Chuck's performance this week may give him something to think about. Even if Krys walks away with the RanBats... Can he walk away with the tournaments? Will other people step up like Chuck has? Who will go into Season 2 with all the momentum!?
