Monitor2112 Fighting game noob!

As the title of this thread says, I am Monitor2112 and I am a fighting game noob. I have played fighting games in the past, but never took the time to really LEARN the fighting game. The genre never appealed to me. Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Killer Instinct, are etc games I could never get into enough to really LEARN anything more than pressing buttons. The down to left quarter circle style mechanic lost me. I've played just about all of those types of fighters at least once, but soon moved on to other games. The only fighting style games I did learn were the wrestling games. But I digress...

Being a comic book fan I had to get this game. I am really trying to learn what I can about the game because I am finding it extremely fun. I find the story to be the best Super Hero game story I've ever played. And I've tried to play every super hero from Marvel or DC based games.

My problem is that some of what is being said in topics is sailing right over my head.

For example in the Nightwing thread I found this:

Spinning Heel Kick-u+3
-A slow somewhat telegraphed overhead (25 frames). Gives great advantage on block (+10)
Now I think u+3 means to press up + hard attack button (A on the 360 which is what I am using)
25 frames is the frame rate for that move...why does frame rate matter? And what does "Gives great advantage on block (+10)" mean?

Anyway, if someone takes the time to answer what are probably stupid questions above, I would greatly appreciate it.

tl/dr: Noob doesn't understand basic concepts of Injustice/Mortal Kombat style games.

Greetings, Monitor.
Welcome to this land of knowledge, learning, and darkly stuff of unknowning-ness, named TestYourMight.com!

>U+3
Indeed. Press up and the heavy attack at the same time.

>Frames
Injustice runs at 60 frames per second. 25 execution frames till the move becomes active and can hit your opponent. During this time, the opponent can attack you out of it, if they have a move under 25 frames capable of doing that.

"+10" means after it is blocked, you'll have ten frames to do something before your opponent can do anything else. If you have a move with 10 execution frames or lower, your opponent is helpless and will have to block the attack or take more damage. Inversely, if an attack is minus ( - ) on block as opposed to plus ( + ), your opponent will be able to do stuff before you can.

Just wanted to stop back in and say thanks again. The thread you sent me to was extremely helpful. Now if I could just get my fingers to work like I need them too...practice, practice, practice.

I'll never get the combos to work until I can get to 100% success in pulling off different super moves. Right now I'm at about 60-70% of the time.

You're welcome!
It all just needs to get into your muscle memory. Yeah, practice. Also stretch out your fingers or something to get the blood pumping before you start playing.

Ok. So earlier I finally was able to chain a super move into a combo. It was just a little 4 hit combo (b+l, m, h>d,b+l), with Cyborg for 22%, but I managed to pull it off.

Thanks again for the help.
