For this, I need you to use your imagination - Can you do that?
First of all, here are some facts: (I'm adding videos so that you can see, in case you don't know what I'm talking about)

1) During a Finishing move in Mortal Kombat 2, a player could glitch it and do something else, turn a Fatality into a Babality. Turn a Babality into a Stage Fatality etc.

2) During Mortal Kombat Armageddon, a player could input buttons in a sequence to Kreate A Fatality.

3) Whilst they started in MK3, Brutalities were in MK vs DC. They were given to the DC characters and called Heroic Brutalities. Brutalities in MK3 were quite repetative in their animations due to the current generation of hardware for it's time and MK vs DC Brutalities, no matter how "Heroic" they were, were a let down because of the severely lacking blood lust that they deserve due to the Teen rating.

4) Most people want Finishers in MKX to be cinematic rather than interactive. So you input one set of buttons and watch a scene of disembowelment. I want BOTH. Inputting buttons and then watching a legitimate mixed up cinematic scene. (Here's where the Imagination komes in....). Imagine that Kung Lao is chopping up people with his hat, then pulling a rabbit out of his hat, turning a Fatality into a Friendship but it's not a glitch. It would be something super hard to pull off.

TLDR: Click YES.

Did I just read that we should be able to tun a fatality into a friendship by pulling a rabbit out of a hat midway through chopping the opponent's limbs off?

This is the happiest I've ever been that they don't just let anyone on the NRS design team.

You're on the wrong forum. If not, the troll is real

Pfffffft, are you kidding me? Fatalities are fine if you're playing 2-3 games with a buddy, but when you and another person are doing a 2 hour + training set, fatalities are a complete waste of time. They serve no purpose outside the realm of super casual gameplay or a little top 8 hype. If you fatality even every other game, I'd be amazed if anyone likes playing you regularly.

Look. When the man says finish him, you finish him.

Yeah, with a sweep, or throw, or some funny but quick dance you can come up with, into an uppercut or combo starting special move.

I prefer Cyraz's Back + 1 arm grab to his fatalities, as finishers.
Another funny one is close bomb, B1 arm grab.

On the contrary, fatalities can be useful for tournament play. They add an extended period of time after the match for you to take time, focus, and think. Plus they're hilarious and if they annoy and frustrate the opponent, even better.

Some people don't wash their hands after they shit. I guess we have to agree to disagree.

I feel like if it's the last match in a set, a finisher is a must.

Kind of like a cherry on top.

Especially if it's at a tourney, and especially if it's the last match in the tournament.
