MK9 Balancing Discussion

Hey guys I'm fairly new to the forum and only just remembered my account login lol.

For those who played MK vs DC we all know the game was horribly balanced with people like Khan do 30% damage of a breaker and it being unblockable/breakable. I think the xray mode is taking way too much damage off and could turn the tide of battle too easy. Do you guys think this game will be fun but as unbalanced as mk vs dc?

Make a list below of general points which would balance the game. Thanks guys.

All the X-Ray moves I've seen seem ok to me. I mean, they aren't unblockable and when used in a combo they do much less damage.

From what i've seen of the x-ray moves they seem pretty balanced but I guess it will depend on how fast the super bar charges as well. I am curious to what people will use the most (x-ray, ex move, breaker), I would of thought against better players you will be using breakers all the time, especially with the potential for such high damage combos.
 
The hole Life bar is bad-ass, i think if they just decrease the damage of the life bar, and make the battle too much longer. (it would be Great)

I wouldn't be surprised if the game turns out unbalanced, but we'll have to see. As long as Reptile is viable, I don't really care.

I would like to at least see patches for extreme unbalances, unlike the infinites in MKvDC that never got fixed. Way lame

Yeah, I'd like to see balance patches. MKDC should've gotten them...not for the infinites though (Excluding Superman's, lol).

They should be community-driven. Boon and Hector do have Twitter accounts, and I'm pretty sure someone from CMK/UMK/MKE has already told them about the 3 sites.

-Meter needs to STOP building after executing an Xray and be on cooldown until the combo is over.

I doubt this game will be "very broken" or anywhere near the 3D MK's and let's say if it is, and if there's an issue no doubt it will be patched this time(for those wondering MKDC was going to be patched and have DLC but due to the Midway/WB gig) going on, the MK team couldn't do it....you need money to do that, and that was one thing Midway didn't have much of....Like azuro had stated, boon and hector do have twitter accounts and I believe would pay attention to something like that(plus this time WB has their back, not a struggling, bankrupt Midway)

But in any case, I think MK9 will be pretty balanced like Konqrr stated I noticed the damage seems to be decreased with an X-ray attack while mixed with a combo....I don't think anyone wants to see ridiculously damaging combos. This is one thing I have to say was very good about MKDC online, I rarely if ever saw anything surpass the 45% mark on average during higher level matches....

The more I see the X-ray attacks the more I like them lol, the zoomed in via inside of the body damage is really neat and gory lol like Boon said they have that whole "CSI thing" going on lol

Of course nobody knows anything for sure just yet....but that's just my theory.

Because the 50+% combos were just about impossible to do on MKDC online with any form of consistency.

Quite a few of MKDC's characters had 50+% BnBs that were unusable online...like Catwoman and Jax.

That's a good thing, right?

You really don't dont scrubs doing cheap moves over and over and over hitting high damage every time due to poor testing / programming.
 
I wonder if the MK team will put more thought into the balance of the game along with online play. e.g. not super laggy games.

Oh that's true but I'm also saying if someone newer goes online and gets a 60%+ combo done on him, what chances does he or she have of competing? lol

Raiden also had some higher combos and Scorpion had some mid 40's+ which I have done but even if the online was better, unless your name is Check nobody isn't doing majority of those crazy high % combos lol

I personally didn't mind the Max Damage in MK4, I know some people loved it, others hated it...

MaxDam ruined creativity and was a cop out for testing, but Midway is notorious for pushing their games out fast so they had to fix what they knew was already a problem and thus MaxDam was born.
