MK2 AI combo detection!

Ok so got a Local MK2 tournament at a arcade/ bar happening next week. Seing as MKAK is dead these days booted up the old MK2 machine to get re aquatinted and brush up.
Don’t know if I’m out of touch but my basic Mileena JK, roll, aahp into air sai just does not happen! Like the AI even disables simple combos? Is that a thing or am I just way out of touch? Playing online and even
Mates on the arcade can easily pull it off . I guess question is can the fucked up MK2 Ai even counter combos?
If this has been brought up in a previous thread I’m sorry and I ask for a link to it

Just spam d3 with Liu Kang. He’s only matched with Jax.
As for the combos, technically MK2 doesn’t have combos, right?

MK2 has PLENTY of combos.

Aside from these crazy ones, even as a kid I found my own, much like OP's combo above.

For example, with Scorpion you could JK, Teleport, Spear, Uppercut.

Shit, even MK1 had combos (mostly corner only, though).

As far as OP's question, I have no idea if the AI goes as far to limit combo ability, but I wouldn't be surprised. The AI in the old MK games was the cheapest shit imaginable. Only way to ever beat it was to find the patterns and cheese it out.

Also, I'd love to go to a bar for an MK2 tourney. So cool.
