Go to hell.
This is for my boys DeathAndHealing and Tim Static who hinted at wanting a more professional write up.
Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition, or MKKE, contains all characters unlocked from the start. This includes Cyber Sub Zero and Quan Chi, while of course containing all four DLC characters; Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger. Furthermore, every single alternate and downloadable costume is unlocked from the start. This includes Mileena's costume three, normally acquired by beating the challenge tower, MK1 costumes, and all the various downloadable costumes such as MK2 Noob Saibot, Jade, Kitana, UMK3 Cyber Sub Zero, and so on.
Wherever you left off in story mode or ladder is where you will pick up in MKKE. If you last played chapter 12 of story, you are still on chapter 12. Stuck on mission 200 of challenge tower in MK9? You are still on mission 200 in MKKE.
As for what isn't there, there are absolutely no balance changes from the most recent hotfix. Things like Smoke's permanent invisibility glitch, strings whiffing on some crouching characters, and all the little issues present as of now are still in MKKE. No net code fix either.
MKKE is compatible with MK9 online servers. There will be no difference, the game will play like you and your opponent are both on MK9 or MKKE.
There are absolutely no new costumes. No UMK3 Rain, no Shao Kahn style Cyber Sub Zero, none of that.
There are also no new achievements, MKKE still appears as MK(9) on your gamer profile.
And as for a glitch pertaining to some DLC characters not appearing, if you bought them in MK9 they will sometimes not appear for you in MKKE. For instance, say you bought Rain back in July, but now he isn't appearing on MKKE. Or in my case, I never bought Freddy but he still wouldn't appear on my console. You need to go to your system settings and delete all DLC. Yes, even if you can see Skarlet, Kenshi, and Freddy, you need to delete them all just to be able to select Rain. They will all be there contrary to the deletion of their saved files in the MK9 saved data storage. If your first experience with the newest Mortal Kombat is through MKKE however, then you will have no problem.
All in all, MKKE is a wonderful version of MK9 complete with every goody the game has to offer. However, if you already have MK9 and the DLC, I would not recommend getting this spare as a gift, to support NRS, replacement copy, etcetera. That said, MKKE is a phenomenal buy for tournaments as every costume and character is available from the get go and obviously an awesome purchase for anyone hesitant to buy MK9 previously.
During a more extended trial with MKKE, I and several other players have found it to be quite a bit glitchier than MK9. For instance:
-Characters with fireball properties like Sub Zero's ice ball, Cyrax's net, etcetera seem to be more prone to having there resets not work. An example of this is is at Final Round when Tom Brady went for the B121 reset into 212 with Sub Zero and the combo instead defaulted into one prolonged combo.
-Ranked matches glitch out more with errors like arriving at the character select screen and the game displayed neither name of you nor your opponent, and you cannot select a character. The only antidote is to leave.
Feel free to add more glitches I am unaware of or forgot and I'll update the OP and give you credit.
