Melee or Brawl? (for kids)

I have little cousins that come over and like to play games but since I only have PS3, I don't have many kid friendly games. I have made the decision to emulate melee or brawl on pc then hook it up to tv. What do you think THEY would like better? One of them is 3 and the other is 7. The one who is 7 knows a bit of pokemon from the show so I'm thinking that (since she's younger) that the pokemon in brawl would be more recgonizble to her but melee is seen as the superior game.

Emulate both and see which one they like the most. Chances are they will gravitate towards Brawl if they're so young, though.

You should never let kids play anything after 2005. Go with Melee.

A friend of mine has an 8 year old that he has been getting into the FGC. Tekken is his primary, but he loves Brawl as well. Melee not so much.

brawl will be a lot more fun for kids.
more characters, more stages i believe. more items,
floaty gameplay
and a lot less technical then melee

ok i got both and I have to say, I havn't played melee in so long that I have forgotten what it feels like to play it. i was thinking it would be way more similar to brawl than it is, but that could just be my nostalgia (but one things for sure is that the opening cutscene is way better for melee). it feels like the stages in melee are less clunky and the hits are meatier too. so, prboably going with melee (it was close because i like smash orbs)
