I'd switch Tali with Wrex, and EDI with Samara. I'm just not a big Tali fan, and I don't really like EDI's character in ME3. I'd also put Jack, Kaidan, Ashley, and Jacob all in C tier together, because they're all equally terrible. Ashley might be a little higher because she's a tank in ME1, but I hate her character, so that probably evens it out and leaves her in C tier. The characters in S tier have it all: Interesting personalities, great dialogue, actual usefulness in combat, and just badassness overall.

Thane is awesome as a character, but I don't see him as that good for a squad member... at least I didn't in ME2. I don't have him in 3 yet. Has he had some significant change in abilities? ...Also. James + carnage = instant kill and he can tank a shit ton of bullets. Ashley is Jade tier, both for her looks and her skills.

I play an adept, but sentinel is god actually. All the classes are totally viable and awesome. Unless you're talking multiplayer, in which case I don't have a clue.

I was ranking them both on how cool they are, and how useful they are in combat. Thane never dies in combat and can kill people that are at a range which is why I always used him when playing through ME2 on the hardest difficultly. And he's fucking bad ass, he has everything it takes to be cool; raspy voice, assassin lifestyle, monk philosophy, a son he cares for, terminal illness. He's Clint Eastwood the alien.

I don't want to spoil anything about Thane in ME3.

Very accurate list. It is funny how most of the characters I find annoying ended up towards the bottom of your tier list. I would swap Tali and Miranda, that is the only thing I would change.

Where is Morinth, she's like Samara but sucks the life out of you when you have sex with her that should put her in A tier at least. That seems like a pretty bad ass chick. I'd take Legion and Thane as a team.

I forgot about Morinth, Zaeed, and Kasumi. I thought Morinth was a cop out since she pretended to be Samara upon recruiting her. Zaeed sucked in combat but was a strait pun on all the 90's action movies which is awesome. Kasumi was boss in combat and pretty funny.

Most OP was mass effect 2 level 30 sentinel shepherd with all the health and shield researches. Breezed through insanity on that.

As far as usefulness goes, I always just played as a soldier. I don't remember who i used in ME1, but ME2 I used variations of Mordin, Jack, and Legion. In 3 I used variations of Garrus, EDI, and Liara. Seemed to work pretty well.
