Hey guys. I'm looking for some help in taking my game to the next level. I'm not new to Mk or to fighting games, but I feel like there are some things I just don't get in regards to taking that next step. Any advice you guys might have that can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I guess I should specify. While I need tips in general specifically I need help with combos. I've looked under the various character combo threads but I can't for the life of me figure out what all the abbreviations are. I already have logged some serious hours in training but can't figure out what moves can be strung together.

Can you state some abbreviations that you don't get?

F343 xx TK xx air sai, F2 xx Roll, B21 2+4 (41% - no meter)

F343 xx TK xx air sai, Roll, B21 2+4 (39% - no meter)

Only parts I know are the roll and air sai...I assume the % is dmg and meter refering to special meter?

okay so the buttons on xbox are x y a b and on playstation it is square triangle circle and x
1 = x and square
2 = y and triangle
3 = a and x
4 = b and circle

Going with xbox inputs here
so f343 means forward a,b,a
thus f2 is forward 2
xx means cancel
TK is mileenas Tele Kick
B21 means back y,x
2+4 means y and b at the same time

you are correct about the damage% and the meter

Ahhhh ok makes a lot more sense now I'm also on xbox so thank you for that. Now with the cancels how do I 1) perform a cancel 2) is it the same input regardless of move or character 3) in the case of the examples above is it 2 seperate cancels or just one cancel on the TK.

To perform a cancel from a string into a special move (necessary for combos in this game), just enter the special move as though it were a part of the string. In those combos you posted a cancel occurs everywhere where you see "xx". The timing for canceling a string into a special depends on the string and the special, sometimes it's easy to cancel a string into a special and other times it's not. It takes a bit of practice and differs from character and combos, but yeah you essentially enter the special move quickly as though it were a part of the combo string.

Thank you I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. So there isn't a specific input for cancels they happen from inputting the moves quick enough to keep the string going?
