The mid hit is swampthings foot kicking you since it hits twice but looks like the hitbox on the log is probably starting behind the other character. Maybe a floaty stance character thing?

I just re-tested this and yeah. It's real.

All floating characters do not get logged in the corner at point blank range. While logging in the corner isn't the smartest move, it can be a nice mix from f233 in the corner. Note that if you step back a tad the log will hit low and knock down, but F2 log and F23 log will move him forward and it'll be blocked mid.

They intentionally changed the hitbox on the move because it was stupid. Accept that and move on.
